HUDA BEAUTY REVIEW: TEXTURED SHADOWS PALETTE, ROSE GOLD EDITION

Huda Kattan (otherwise known as Huda Beauty) is without a doubt one of the worlds leading beauty influencers. Beginning her career as a makeup artist, she went on to rise to Internet stardom with her blog and YouTube channel leading on to her starting her very own beauty line. I was beyond excited with the announcement that she was launching an 18-pan eyeshadow palette, ‘The Huda Beauty Rose Gold Edition Textured Shadows Palette’, and knew that this was going to be really hard to get hold of!

At a whopping £56 it is a pricey palette, but for your money you do get 18 different eyeshadows in 3 different formulas ‘Saturated Matte’, ‘3D Metal’, and ‘Chromatic Pressed Pearl’. The shadows are all really creamy and pigmented, and I love the fact that within one palette you get 3 different textures and effects. I always like to use the matte shadows as a base, and the trick with the ‘3D Metal’ or foil-effect shadows is to pack them on and blend out with your finger for the best colour pay off. This can get a little messy and if you don’t like using your fingers to do your makeup then this technique may not be for you, but it really is the best way to use this palette.

One thing that did let me down with this product is the packaging. For the price, I would have preferred something more luxe and hardwearing as opposed to cardboard. I do however like her signature branding which is to put her eyes on the palette, and I really think this sells her as a brand to its fullest potential. After all, its what’s inside that counts!

The below swatches were all done with a MAC 213 brush:

(1st Row L-R: Dubai, Fling, 24K, Rose Gold, Trust Fund, Angelic)

(2nd Row L-R: #Blessed, Bossy, Flamingo, Shy, Bae, Moon Dust)

(3rd Row L-R: Black Truffle, Suede, Coco, Maneater, Henna, Sandalwood)

Overall, you have everything you need in one palette to achieve a wide range of spellbinding looks. I am obsessed with the range of hues and textures, but I do think that this is an investment buy.

Do you think this palette is worth the price? Are there any other similar eyeshadow palettes out there that are cheaper?
