GIORGIO ARMANI REVIEW: LUMINOUS SILK FOUNDATION

When it comes to finding the right foundation for your skin type, this is probably one of the hardest makeup buys to master.

Too much coverage? Too little coverage? Dewy finish? Matte finish? The list can be endless. Finding your perfect base, and something that ticks all the boxes, is the ultimate makeup challenge. For me it’s especially tricky as I have oily/combination blemish prone skin and I want something that’s long-lasting, makes my skin look healthy and radiant but not oily, and doesn’t look like its caked on my face…

I mean, how much more could I ask for?

One foundation that has made it into my top 5 and Holy Grail foundation stash is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I’d rank it as a medium coverage foundation, which provides a light buildable coverage and smooth’s out any texture on the skin. Its a sheer silicone-based fluid that’s silky to touch and feels weightless once you’ve smoothed it on, it somehow manages to help even out my temperamental skin and veil any imperfections I may have (which is a lot incase you were wondering). Because of the liquid consistency of the product you can apply with a brush or a sponge, whatever works for you it’ll get you that flawless finish you’re after either way. Some days I sheer it out to almost nothing, or at times when I want more high coverage I just build up until I get the effect I’m after which is always a natural looking finish.

I’ve searched and searched for a foundation that would give me a dewy finish without making me look oilier, and for me this one is a winner. It doesn’t clog or break-up around my T-zone during the day or highlight my blemish issues, although I do always touch up my base with a translucent or finishing powder whatever I’m wearing. The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation glides onto my skin for that lit-from-within glow and blends like a dream to give me that comfortable natural finish I’m after, what’s not to love? And with quite an impressive shade range (24 to be exact), I’m sure you’ll find one that suits you too.
