BECCA REVIEW: Après Ski Glow Collection Face Palette

(Swatches L-R: Rose Gold highlighter, Icicle highlighter, Winter Berries mineral blush, Blushed Copper mineral blush, Opal highlighter, Bronzed Bondi sunlit bronzer)

I always struggle come winter time finding makeup that compliments the season, I never know what to wear on my face. I still want to have dewy-looking skin with a lit-from-within glow but don’t want it to look overboard, and it has to work for Autumn/Winter in London where it rains 90% of the time. When I saw images of the ‘BECCA: Après Ski Glow Collection Face Palette’ flood the internet, I knew I had to have it. I think its the perfect all-rounder palette that will give me a bit of everything I need come the colder months.

Firstly, lets discuss the packaging. Sturdy mirrored and gleaming casing with a seasonal icicle/snowflake design and a huge mirror on the inside – this palette is one thats definitely travel friendly. The palette pans are a really good size as well meaning you wont be running out of product in the near future; 3 highlighter shades, 2 blushes and a bronzer – whats not too love?

Now into the contents of the palette. Smooth and buttery skin perfecting powders that glide on to the skin and are packed with pigment means this is one face palette that you could actually carry with you year-round. With highlighters aplenty, you wont be struggling for a winter glow. I don’t like to over glow come winter time, but I do still want healthy radiant skin. What I like about BECCA highlighters is that the pigment is incredible, you can wear them more subtly or really build up the product so that your highlight packs a punch. Rose Gold and Opal are two pre-existing BECCA highlight shades, but Icicle is brand new and exclusive to this limited edition face palette. My favourite shade out of them all is Opal and its one I’ve been eyeing up for a while, so I’m glad BECCA included it in this palette along with lots of other beautiful shades so I could try them all. Onto the blushes; Winter Berries & Blushed Copper. Winter Berries is a warm rouge-pink and a little really does go a long way with this shade, careful not to over apply – trust me its easily done. Now Blushed Copper is a gorgeous luminous blush which I’d use more as a blush topper and not all over the cheeks, or even as a highlighter as it really does glow when the light hits it just so. And lastly, the bronzer. Bronzed Bondi sunlit bronzer is a medium amber shade so should compliment most skin tones ranging from light to medium to deep, and definitely works with my olive undertoned complexion. It has a healthy natural warmth and the creamy powder with a slight shimmer is great for the winter season.

On another note this palette is limited edition for the holiday season, and I think it’s the perfect Christmas gift for any self-confessed make up junkie out there. These stunning face-flattering powders will keep you glowing throughout the winter season, and can double up as eyeshadow shades. Get it before its gone!
