When Glossier announced that they were launching in the UK, British beauty lovers rejoiced and welcomed the arrival with open arms. It takes an enormous amount of work for a brand to achieve cult status, especially one that has such humble beginnings. So on Black Friday I took the plunge and ordered some of the much hyped products, read on to discover if these products deserve a place in your makeup bag/on your bathroom shelf…

Glossier celebrates real girls in real life. Its the brainchild of the infamous blog “Into The Gloss” very own Founder Emily Weiss, and creates uncomplicated makeup and skincare staples to bring out your best. Glossier strips things back to the core, and any low maintenance girl can get on board with their products and incorporate them into their routine. Even though I am a makeup lover (and arguable a makeup hoarder), Glossiers ‘Skin First. Make-up Second’ handful of products approach is surprisingly refreshing to me.
Glossier doesn’t test any of their products on animals, meaning everything is 100% cruelty free. Who wouldn’t want to get on board with that? Along with the noteworthy millennial pink packaging you’ve seen flooding your Instagram feed & have been desperate to get your hands on, these simple yet effective beauty products will show off the best version of you. Lets delve into the pieces I’ve managed to get my hands on…
BOY BROW: Boy Brow is a hair pomade in a creamy wax formula that has a small yet remarkably effective brush, great for filling in and defining your brows. Its available in four shades, and conditions your brows at the same time as filling them in. It fills, fluffs, thickens, and shapes. Brows are the last thing I do before I head out the door, and Boy Brow has made this crucial step so much easier.
CLOUD PAINT: I don’t normally go for cream blushes, but I couldn’t resist Cloud Paint in the shade Dusk. What I love about this is its super easy to apply, and the gel-like formula leaves your cheeks with a sunkissed sheer wash of colour. Its very user friendly but be warned a little does go a long way, so apply lightly for that lit-from-within glow. This seamless and buildable product is targeted to work across a wide range of skin tones, and I’ve fallen for it so much I think I may just buy all the other shades.
WOWDER: Wowder clams to do a lot of things. Supposedly it; sets your makeup, blurs your pores, and cuts shines whilst making sure your skin still looks like skin. Its also not supposed to get cakey or settle into any fine lines, and most importantly (for those living in the 21st century) has no camera flashback. Now whilst I haven’t tested what it looks like in photos just yet, I can definitely say there was no chalky residue or cakeyness on show at all. Wowder made sure it held my under-eye concealer in place all day and hey, I can’t argue with that.
I must thank Glossier for becoming available in the UK (at last), and all I can say is at least now you don’t have to fly stateside to get your hands on this good stuff. I’ll 100% be trying more from this cult favourite, maybe some skincare items next? A note to remember, founder Emily’s mantra: ‘Skincare Is Essential, Make-Up Is A Choice’.
