Shoppers from across the globe have been known to arrive in New York and make Reformation their go-to shopping destination, and for good reason. A sustainable fashion brand, they’re all about the environment and repurpose fabrics and vintage clothing and create pieces we all want to wear that look like they’ve come straight off of the runway. For years Reformation has amassed a cult fashion following, and I headed to their boutique in the East Village to find out why.
The design mission and ethos at Reformation is to create clothing and silhouettes that celebrate all female figures, and is centred around designing clothing that women want to wear right now. They source the most sustainable fabrics they can find to bring their design ideas to life as quickly as possible, and have honed in on their signature pieces such as; delicate blouses, A-line skirts, chic jumpsuits and flattering jeans. At Reformation, they believe the perfect fit is the most important part of their clothes.
After browsing the rails and trying on more than 10 items in their warehouse-style store, I finally found what I was looking for. The perfect pair of black jeans with an edge – they had a frayed and flared hem which looks great with a pair of ankle boots, and the fabric was the softest/stretchiest I’ve ever worn making the jeans look incredibly flattering on. All your purchases are given to you in a chic black reusable tote bag which you can use over and over again, win win.
