A LIST OF THINGS TO DO IN SELF-ISOLATION

It seems like there’s no end in sight. Like most I thought that at the start of 2020, and the start of a new decade, it was a time to start things afresh, let go of all the negativity in our lives, and welcome the new decade with open arms. Sadly, things have taken a turn for the worst and worldwide we are in the midst of a pandemic. Countries have gone into lockdown, were in a state of national emergency, resources are depleting, and society is becoming more fractured day by day. Incase you are self-isolating indoors for the foreseeable future, here’s a list of things you can do to pass the time.

– Read a book
– Listen to a podcast
– Catch up on all those newsletters clogging your email inbox
– Read those saved articles you have on Facebook, LinkedIn etc.
– Get creative – paint, sketch, draw
– Make a collage of images that catch your eye (see above image)
– Journal
– Meditate
– Practice gratitude
– Organise your wardrobe – sort out clothes to sell & clothes to donate
– Deep cleanse your living environment
– Call elderly relatives
– FaceTime loved ones
– Take a virtual tour of your favourite museum
– Water your plants
– Come up with an at-home exercise routine
– Make a new recipe from one of your cookbooks
– Unfollow any negative people on your social media feeds
– Learn a new skill
– Do a free online course in a subject that interests you
– Watch a documentary
OR binge watch a new Netflix series
– Have an indulgent bubble bath with candles and bath salts
– Clean your beauty drawer and makeup brushes
– Do a face mask, hair mask, hand mask, feet mask etc…
– Join an online book club
– Watch all the YouTube tutorials you’ve saved for later
– Create a travel bucket list of all the places you want to visit when this nightmare is over
– Donate (if you can) and support a charitable cause
– Do all the odd-jobs around the house you’ve been meaning to do but have been putting off for lack of time
– Update your CV
– Keep updated and informed with the news
