Ahhh vintage fashion – to shop vintage is to know the effort of trawling through rail after rail of clothing with no joy, to burrow your head so deep into a pile of clothes you nearly fall over face first. But the key is too persevere, and when you win you win in a big way. That’s exactly how I felt when I found this vintage tie-dye t-shirt in Pick n Weight in Covent Garden, once I found it I knew it’d found a home in me.
This outfit is exactly what I think of when I think of having fun with fashion, and wearing clothes that make you happy. There’s something incredibly uplifting about wearing bright colours, and there’s even research to suggest that wearing colourful clothing can enhance/improve your mood. I’m not one to argue with facts, and I don’t think there’s any one item of clothing more colourful in my closet than this tie-dye t-shirt. I also love the lion wearing a crown and the “Rastafari” wording, paying tribute to my Jamaican heritage.
Bad days, good days, sunny days, rainy days; this is an item of clothing I’ll be reaching for whenever I’m in the need for a mood boost. Styling this t-shirt with a pair of white trousers only enhances its vibrancy, but wearing it with a darker pair of bottoms would work equally as well. How would you style this pieces?
