Wardrobe staples are unique to each individual. What works for me may not work for you, and vice versa. But there are a few key pieces for AW20/21 that I think can work for everyone.
The knit dress – there’s nothing quite like a slightly oversized midi dress to hide all your winter sins (I’m talking about the excessive eating I’ve been doing over the festive period – no regrets). This Arket dress is a newer addition to my wardrobe, but one I know I’m going to reach for over and over again this season.
The puffer jacket – as a 90’s baby the puffer jacket is a nostalgic item for me reminding me of my younger years. One way to elevate this throwback item is to pair it with a dress and ankle boots, you can’t go wrong with this effortless outfit.
The cashmere beanie – I picked up my cashmere beanie from COS a few years ago and it’s still as good as new. I don’t own many cashmere pieces (for fear of ruining them), but they’re a worthwhile investment that will truly last.
The chunky boot – I debated about getting a pair of chunky boots for ages as I couldn’t find a style that quite suited me. Some were overly chunky, some weren’t chunky enough. But I’m glad I held out as I got a pair that really worked well with pieces I already own.
The long sleeve white tee – maybe the most treasured wardrobe staple of all is the classic white tee. For the autumn/winter months make sure to grab yourself a long sleeve version so you can brace the colder weather – looks good under a knit vest if you really want to stay on trend.
What are the key pieces you’ll be wearing this autumn/winter? I’d love to know – comment below so we can keep the conversation going!
