Updating your wardrobe ready for a new season doesn’t mean you have to splash out on lots of new pieces. In fact, you can tap into the spirit of springtime without having to spend a penny. Spring is one of those seasons where it may rain, the sun may shine, and it may snow all in one day. Springtime outfits have to work twice as hard, so check that your wardrobes are flexible and fashionable ready for whatever is ahead.

You can’t go wrong with a trench coat for spring. A coat that’ll protect you from all weathers, is lightweight enough to carry around or drape over your shoulders in case the weather does warm up, they’re a wardrobe staple that have been around for years, and will be around for years to come.

Checked shirts are a great piece that you can layer over a t-shirt or vest, or wear alone tucked into tailored trousers and jeans – or even a cute midi skirt! They’re also a great way to introduce some pattern and colour into your everyday style, just in time for a spring wardrobe refresh.

Ankle-grazers are perfect for springtime, and my ankle-grazer trousers of choice are most definitely culottes. An easy to wear alternative to jeans and more tailored trousers, relaxed culottes provide style and comfort whilst looking incredibly chic. I love to wear a pair of fun socks in a colour similar to my outfit to add a pop of something extra.

Where would we be without our classic white trainers? A staple in most wardrobes, white trainers will go with just about any outfit you can think of. Springtime hopefully means the weather will behave and we can wave goodbye to muddy dreary weather, so now’s a great time to dust off your white trainers and get them in rotation in your spring outfits.
