Autumn/winter fashion is my favourite, in particular the footwear and accessories that accompany the season. I have my go-to winter boots which never fail me year after year, even as they age they just seem to get better. Lockdown and tier restrictions does mean social engagements are on hold indefinitely, but it’s still worth investing in a good pair of winter boots to see you through the crisp and cool weather.
My battle with winter boots is that you either have to choose fashionable or functional, and I can never decide between the two. For season after season there haven’t been many good boot options that are a great in-between, for a while now we’ve had to sacrifice style for function and that just won’t do.
Luckily in 2020 brands started coming out with some really good winter boot options. From Chelsea boots to combat boots, from wellingtons to boots that are suitable for all-terrains, and over-the-knee boots that have an air of chicness about them, finally we can take charge of our cold weather footwear and embrace the autumn/winter season in style. I always look to the catwalks and fashion month for inspiration, and brands such as Christian Dior and Moncler really pulled through this time round.
I love my tried and tested Dr Martens and Timberlands, but my new favourite pair of winter boots are my Anthropologie boots (pictured above) that I had to pre-order and wait a couple of months for. They are warm, waterproof, and versatile enough that I can wear them from desk to dinner and in virtually any setting.
