Transitioning your wardrobe from your winter items to your spring pieces is always tricky. And with motivation at an all time low this year due to us not really being able to go anywhere, I wouldn’t be surprised if a spring wardrobe refresh is at the bottom of your to-do list. But with warmer weather and blue skies on the horizon, now could be the perfect time to revamp your wardrobe and get you in the mood for what’s hopefully some brighter days ahead.
There’s no doubt about it we are at that awkward time of year where Mother Nature can be temperamental – and that’s putting it politely! Because of the unpredictable weather, there’s always some confusion around what we’re supposed to be wearing on a day-to-day basis.
Below I list some of my tips and tricks on what you can do to make your wardrobe work for you this time of year.
– Instead of reaching for your darker items, for example indigo denim and heavy jackets, why not try wearing lighter washes of your favourite styles instead? Try colour combinations that signal there’s a warmth in the air.
– Wear patterns that signal springtime is here, Breton t-shirts and florals are a no-brainer this time of year, as well as polka dots and gingham prints.
– Pair your favourite knitwear and chunkier pieces with lighter textured items, I love teaming knitwear with a silk/satin slip skirt for an effortless springtime outfit combination.
Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a world of difference. Now we are finally on the cusp of spring, let me know in the comments section below what you do to make your wardrobe work for this weird in-between season we’re currently in…
